Project Description

The Alaska Department of Public Transportation and Public Facilities (DOT&PF) is updating the 10-year old Bethel Airport Master Plan. The Bethel Airport is the busiest commuter hub in rural Alaska, serving the transportation needs of the City of Bethel and 56 villages in the Lower Yukon-Kuskokwim region.

The update to the Master Plan will use existing forecast information to further address planning issues, anticipate future airport needs, and develop a cost-effective strategy that will guide airport development for the next 20 years.

  • Landside
    • Terminal area parking and vehicle circulation
    • New lease lots
  • Land Use
    • Non-aviation use of airport lands
  • Environmental
    • Wildlife control issues
