MSB/FTA Environmental Impact Statement

The
Matanuska-Susitna Borough (MSB) received federal funds
from the Federal Transit Administration (FTA) to
prepare an Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) and to
develop transportation infrastructure to support development
of the area. This project will improve access to the
area by developing and improving the transit facilities,
including the access roads, parking areas, trail access and
transit stops. The National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) requires federal agencies providing project funding to evaluate the possible environmental impacts due to their decisions and the improvements. Since the FTA is providing funds for transportation improvements; they must comply with NEPA by completing an environmental review of this project. The EIS is now complete and can be viewed here. |
