Group C: Downtown Curb Bulbs Phase II
There are 17 intersections in the downtown area being evaluated for the use of curb bulbs. The majority of the angle collisions in these intersections have common factors such as slippery pavement, failure to yield, and/or traffic control device disregarded. Intersections with on-street parking up to the intersection with no curb bulb hinders the driver's ability to spot the stop sign located at least 12 feet behind the curb line and allows a parked car to completely obstruct vision of the stop sign.
Install curb bulbs at all corners (of the 17 studied intersections) with adjacent on-street parking
Install inlaid stop bars to better maintain striping visibility and to maintain awareness that drivers need to stop
