PRESTON ATHLETIC FIELDS and COMMUNITY PARK

Preston, Washington Preston Athletic Fields and Park
PROJECT NOTES
Preston Athletic Fields and Community Park, commonly called Preston Park, is located near Exit 22 on Interstate 90. The park, on approximately 14.5-acres, is owned and operated by King County Parks Department. The design and construction was overseen by a three-party LLC, comprised of Eastside Football Club (a local premier soccer club), Issaquah Little League, and the Preston Community Club. The Preston Park LLC was formed specifically to create the park and hand it over to the county. Funding came primarily from grants and donations. Much of the professional services were provided by volunteers or at low or no profit. DOWL HKM was involved from the concept design stages to project closeout. One of DOWL HKM's engineers served as an alternate on the Preston Park LLC. The completed park includes two lighted, full-size, synthetic turf soccer fields, a natural turf little league field, a community great lawn, a play structure, a restroom building, parking, and walking paths. Infrastructure includes water service, a new septic system, irrigation, stormwater management facilities, and road improvements. A second phase is planned to add a third soccer field, warm-up fields, and a maintenance building.
What we want - Meeting the community's design challenges in extraordinary ways.
What drives us - Positively shaping our world with exemplary professional service.
What we believe - Honesty and quality work build successful relationships.
