Typical Internship Positions

Even though we do not have credit-oriented internships, our interns get paid for the work they do, whether they work year round or just for the summer. A typical intern at DOWL HKM could perform a wide range of duties including assisting the survey or CADD departments, field data collection, project planning or marketing.

Scholarships

Currently, DOWL HKM supports annual scholarships through the Montana State University-Bozeman's College of Engineering. To qualify for one of these scholarships, the recipient must meet the following requirements: If for any year an otherwise qualified first-time recipient cannot be identified, then the scholarship is renewable for another year of study.

ANSEP Program

The University of Alaska Anchorage (UAA) and University of Alaska Fairbanks (UAF) Alaska Native Science & Engineering Program (ANSEP) is a comprehensive suite of outreach, recruitment, retention and placement strategies designed to help Alaska Native students fulfill their potential in college, and obtain careers in engineering and science related professions. ANSEP's home base is UAA but the program is spreading to universities throughout the United States.

DOWL HKM provides college scholarships for ANSEP students as well as internships and other employment opportunities. Annually we employ five to ten ANSEP student interns and graduates.

Meet Our College Students and Recent College Graduates

"Going to college while working is never easy. However, DOWL HKM not only makes it bearable, they actually make it fun. They are flexible with my hours and believe that my success in college can translate back to the firm. I love working here and encourage other college students to apply for internships. It is the best way to get experience!"

"After graduating college, I interviewed with a number of well-respected firms in the region. During my interview, I could feel the positive attitude that surrounds the company. After accepting a position with DOWL HKM, it was clear that everyone is truly concerned about each other and the well-being of the company. Working at DOWL HKM has allowed me the opportunity to work on a very diverse range of projects in my first year. They encourage you to pursue your interests, and challenge you to excel in all that you do. It is also nice to work for the #1 rated H&H firm in the state. DOWL HKM is a great place to work!"
